Description: Avinu Shebashamayim, a prayer for peace and more, was beautifully set to music by Cantor Meir Finkelstein, a gifted composer of contemporary Jewish music which features lyrical melodies and beautiful form. This was a perfect song for Kurt Meyer to share his amazing gift for arranging and create an accessible, rich, and sensitive handbell piece. Featured in both the bell and handchime lines, the poignant melody is clear throughout. The LV accompaniment in the inner voices plus low bass in both bells and chimes provides the perfect foundation. Special attention to dynamics make this a “prayerful” and introspective work.
