Blanton, Michael
Michael Blanton is from Charleston, South Carolina and has a BS in mathematics from Clemson University.
Michael has been playing handbells since he was 9, and began studying piano at age 8 and he sings, plays the harpsichord, organ, carillon, ukulele, theremin, and ocarina.
He would love to be an astronaut, and his life goal would be to start the first handbell ensemble on Mars.
Michael plays bells with several churches around Charleston, as well as with Palmetto Bronze under Marcia Brantley. He also rang with Alan Lohr in Carolina Bronze during college. His favorite bell is C9, and he prefers Schullies to Malmark.
Michael’s favorite bird is the flamingo.
