Werner, Barbara
Barb Werner was born and raised in New Jersey, and has lived in numerous locations across the United States as an Air Force wife. She currently resides in Colorado Springs, CO. Barbara graduated from Allegheny College (PA) in 1991 with a B.S. in Mathematics and Music, and then spent the next 10 years as a software engineer for Northrop Grumman before becoming a mother. In 2005, she attended one of the first AGEHR Composer Master Classes led by Arnold Sherman. Barbara has many years of experience ringing handbells, starting in high school and including membership in Sonoran Bells, a community handbell ensemble in Tucson, AZ. She now remains at home to raise her sons: Will (10), Noah (8), and Zeke (4).
Barbara has composed numerous pieces for piano and has had several handbells works published by From the Top, GIA, Jeffers, and Chorister’s Guild. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys scrapbooking, handbell ringing, rock climbing, and composing.
