Dr. Paul Douglas McGahie has a rich history and lifetime career in music. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Music with a Master of Music in Choral Conducting moving on to the famed Conservatory of Music where he earned his DMA in Choral Conducting.
He has served as Minister of Music and Worship at First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula, MS since 2009, leading adult choirs, men’s quartet, SATB quartet and children’s choirs as well as leading the adult handbell choir plus working with soloists and smaller handbell ensembles.
He has conducted the Gulf Coast Messiah Chorus and orchestra in that magnificent work annually since 2009.
Dr. McGahie has handbell music published under the nom de plume of Paul Douglas and continues to enjoy creating new works for handbells.
