Griffin, Jackie
Dr. Jackie Griffin (Professor, Dean of College of Fine Arts, Chair of the Cline School of Music) has the BM from Furman University, the MM from Converse, and the DMA from the University of South Carolina. Her major areas of study are performance (organ), and composition and theory. She has performed many recitals and concerts throughout the region, but composition is her first love. Dr. Griffin has served many churches in the Greenville, South Carolina area as organist and worship leader, including Trinity United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church. She is a member of ASCAP and Who’s Who of American Women, has served as President of the College Division of the South Carolina Music Educators Association, has received a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to study early music, is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honors Society, and is a visiting evaluator for the National Association of Schools of Music. Dr. Griffin and her husband, Tommy, are the parents of one son, Stephen.
