Anderson, Douglas
Douglas Anderson is the Artistic Director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Ringers, a bronze-level, community-based handbell ensemble in the Parkersburg, WV-Marietta, OH area. Dr. Anderson is active as a bass-baritone soloist in regional oratorio performances and has sung professionally in various choruses under such noted conductors as Robert Shaw, Charles Dutoit, and Neville Marriner. With graduate degrees in music theory from the University of Texas and the Ohio State University, he is a specialist in Schenkerian analytic theory and has taught music theory, analysis, and counterpoint as well as vocal music performance. Since 2005, he has served as a member of the faculty and Director of the Library at Marietta College, having worked previously as a librarian at Furman University and Presbyterian College in South Carolina and at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
