Wood, D Ann
Ann Wood is currently Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Escanaba, Michigan, where she conducts vocal and handbell choirs, and conductor of the Bay de Noc Choral Society. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Speech/Theatre and of Concordia University Wisconsin with a Master of Church Music/Choral Conducting/Handbell degree. She currently serves Area 5, Handbell Musicians of America, as Michigan State Chair. She holds Level 1 Certification with Distinction under the old Guild certification program and is working toward certification under the new plan. Ann maintains a large private music studio in the Escanaba area, teaching piano, voice, and Suzuki and traditional violin, viola, and cello. In addition to her other endeavors, she teaches English, communications, and music classes as an adjunct faculty member at Bay de Noc Community College and has two handbell compositions in print. Ann lives in Escanaba with her husband Brian and daughter Tory, who share her love of music.
