Christmastide Celebration

Kurt incorporated six favorite hymn tunes celebrating Christmas into one wonderful setting! The melodies of some of the hymn tunes are predominately featured with many portions of others being interwoven or contrapuntally overlaid throughout the work. The melodies are featured in both bells and chimes and are beautifully supported with a variety of techniques including LV, gyro, tower swing, TD, mart, mart-lift, mallets – both suspended and on the table. Your group will find wonderful dynamic opportunities, nuances in tempo, and the occasional Sk to add excitement to this amazing piece. Even though this work is rated Level 3, it contains a lot of detail that will make it a fun challenge for all groups to play well.
