Composer: Giuseppe Verdi
Arranger: Lawrence Bauer
Octaves Handbell: 5 - 6
Octaves Handchimes: n/a
Level: 3+
This lively tune from Act 2, Scene 1 of Verdi’s opera – Aïda – has been arranged for handbells. It features malleting bells on the table (or other stopped technique) intermittently interspersed with Rung notes throughout. It moves along at a fast pace that can be adapted for your group’s ability. There are many instances of grace notes which may provide a bit of a challenge at tempo. It ends with a dramatic TLD! A great piece for concerts and festival ringing.
