Martha Lynn Thompson selected 9 famous classical masterworks by the likes of Grieg, Beethoven, Brahms, Strauss II, Smetana and more – and arranged them for small ensemble using 2 octaves bells – all written in the treble clef. They are true to the original works and range in length from 1 minute to over 3 minutes so each can be featured on concerts or in worship. Techniques used are Ring with a few LVs, Shakes, and one title has bells malleted on the table throughout. There are dynamics and appropriate ritardando plus melodies needing to be featured amongst the accompaniment. This is a fabulous collection for smaller groups or sub-groups of your full handbell choir.
Additional options: C5-B5 could be doubled down an octave and rung by a full handbell choir.
Or the entire score could be rung ‘down an octave’ for a more mellow tone.
Titles include:
Elfin Dance ~ Grieg

Hungarian Dance No. 5 ~ Brahms
Kaiser Waltz ~ J. Strauss II
Kleine Kinder, Kleine Sorgen ~ German Folk Tune
