A Moment of Buoyancy ~ BT Solo with bell ensemble - Handbell choir score
Composer: Paul Kinney
Octaves Handbell: 3 – 5 – accompaniment for the solo
Other: 3 octave bell tree solo (C6-C7)
Level: 3
This beautifully crafted original work was written for Bell Tree Solo with handbell choir accompaniment. It begins with a gentle and mysterious legato section as the solo introduces hints of melody. This leads to a very nice segue to the key of F-major and introduction of gently syncopated rhythm. The fully developed melody is featured with contrapuntal echoes in the choir by the melody featured in the upper bass with the soloist ringing a lyrical accompaniment. A very nice interplay with ongoing legato eighth note passages moving smoothly to C-major then back to F-major continues to the final section where both choir and soloist are fully integrated in the exciting and dynamic ending! The composer has included charts showing well-thought out bell tree setup.
