This creative arrangement combines Joy to the World (ANTIOCH), I SAW THREE SHIPS, and IN DULCI JUBILO in an exciting setting perfect for your next holiday or Christmas concert! It begins quite simply with singing bell and hints of the melody to come. There are ample opportunities for interesting sounds unique interpretatoin and Caleb has included many written instructions to aid ringers in expressing the music he envisioned. The interplay among the three tunes is engaging, lyrical, rhythmic and segues between sections are seamless and quite nice in their own right! Handchimes add nice texture and help bring out the melody in sections where there is a lot going on! In keeping with the ‘maritime’ feel, Caleb has included text to guide your imagination such as: As a shimmer on the water; ships through a looking glass; on the ship’s dock; the sea begins to boil… and more! Much of the piece is in 6/8-feel, which moves along from a gentle rocking to full-out rollicking across the musical ‘waters.’ A nice mix of Ringing and Malleting with a few stopped sounds add to the expression. This will be a fun and rewarding addition to your bronze repertoire. Click here to view/listen to this title and more on our YouTube channel
