Allegro - Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Composer: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Arranger: William E. Gross
Octaves Handbell: 5 - 7
Octaves Handchimes: n/a
Level: 3
Mozart wrote Eine Kleine Nachtmusic, K 525, in 1787 for chamber music ensemble but it was not published until 1827, after his death. The German title actually means “a little serenade” and it is interesting that he was working on the powerful opera, Don Giovanni K.527, at the same time! Perhaps Mozart needed a bit of joy … which will also make this a perfect piece to include in your concert repertoire! It is mostly rung with malleted low bass and nicely-placed RTs which make this piece dance. Will’s handbell transcription is faithful to the original work and ringers and audience alike will enjoy it immensely. Click here to view/listen to this title and more on our YouTube channel
