Selected as the Canadian Composition for the International Symposium 2026 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Betty has a gift of creating musical ‘tone poems’ which tell wonderful stories that we all can relate to. In this title, she explores the many stages of how people may connect with one another, with each musical section reflecting the emotions related in: observing, seeking, losing, lost, searching, finding, embracing and celebrating. Techniques include rung notes, stopped sounds, suspended bells, shakes, and nicely placed LV phrases. Use of lowest bass chimes and bells plus expression and dynamic changes add to the depth and expression. This is nearly 6 minutes in length and is perfect for that very special concert.
