This piece was commissioned by The Handbell Brothers blog as part of a challenge issued between two groups of ringers – one in Reno, another in Seattle. Not having seen it before, each group had two hours to prepare and ring it! Of course, they had to be tipsy. It is based on the sea shanty "What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor?" – famously performed by the Irish Rovers. It is delightfully unique and a fun challenge for your advanced quartet. (As an aside, we doubt it could be played very well by ringers who are actually tipsy.)
