If you were around in the 1940's, you may remember Allen Jones or Perry Como performing this humorous Rudolph Friml song which depicts a man singing about his donkey. The handbell arrangement captures the spirit of the song with its bouncy, merry melody and the clip clop of the donkey's hooves, represented by the alternating bass line. Optional Temple Blocks may be added to the staccato bass line to enhance the musical "picture".
