This first movement – ‘Spring’ - of Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ has been nicely transcribed for handbells. It features mallets, mallet roll, pluck, thumb damp, mart, and mart-lift offset by nicely place Ring, LV, gyros, echoes, and shakes. Dynamics and expression will keep the Allegro movement of this classical favorite joyfully dancing from beginning to end.
Recommended tempo on the score is q = 92 which may present some challenges in the 16th note triplet passages.
The tempo on this recording is q = 84 which still dances along and may work better for some groups.
The faster tempo is posted on the From the Top YouTube page.
