Edwards, Dan R
Dan R. Edwards was born in Portsmouth, VA. After graduating public school in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1969, he attended Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth, Virginia and Madison College (now James Madison University) in Harrisonburg, Virginia where he earned his Associates, Bachelors, and Masters degrees in music and music education. Dan has been a public school teacher, organist, choir director, and recently served as Minister of Worship at Centerville Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. He has been a published composer for 20 years and his choral, instrumental, and handbell arrangements appear in the catalogs of over 15 established music publishers in America. He is also author of a coming-of-age series entitled The Adventures of Jimmy Wanger released by PublishAmerica.
Dan is married Lori Somerville Edwards, who teaches music in the Chesapeake City Public Schools. They have two children, Rebecca, 23, and John, 18.
